Azle ISD hosts Oct. 12 AAMA luncheon

The AAMA's October 12 luncheon will be hosted by the Azle ISD from 11:45 a.m.-1 p.m. in the administration building located at the historic "old rock school," 300 Roe Street in Azle. The ISD's food service contractor, Southwest Foodservice Excellence (SFE) will provide the meal for this luncheon, as well.

Superintendent Todd Smith and Asst. Superintendent of Finance and Operations Matt Adams have also arranged for the speaker for the October luncheon. The Rev. Charles Foster Johnson, founder and executive director of Pastors for Texas Children, will bring the keynote address.

Advocacy for children has long been a cornerstone of Rev. Johnson’s work. He served on the Board of Trustees of New Horizons Treatment Center for Children and the Child Friendly Faith Project. In 2013, he founded Pastors for Texas Children, a statewide ecumenical organization mobilizing the faith community for public education support and advocacy. PTC now has over 2,000 faith partners throughout Texas and sister networks in four states. Rev. Johnson is also founder and co-pastor of Bread, a faith community in Fort Worth, and has been in ministry for 40-plus years.
